Michael has been a lawyer since 1997 and joined McNally’s in 2012. He is an Accredited Specialist in Industrial and Employment Law.
Michael has worked for a number of labour law firms and trade unions and has built up an enviable knowledge of industrial and employment law in Australia and the operations of trade unions within our industrial relations system.
Michael appears in employment and union-related matters in industrial tribunals across Australia. He has acted in many matters that have been heard in State Supreme Courts, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia. Prior to joining McNally’s, he was General Counsel for the Transport Workers’ Union of Australia and in that position he was responsible for steering the TWU through the Qantas dispute. He has been involved in the modern award review process conducted by the Fair Work Commission and has advised on union rules, governance and enterprise bargaining on a national scale.
Michael operates in the NSW and Federal industrial systems and assists with industrial disputes and litigation affecting our union clients and their members.
Michael is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
