Richard was a Principal of Jones Staff & Co for 28 years prior to its merger with W. G. McNally & Co in September 2006. He remained a Principal of McNally Jones Staff until his retirement on 31 March 2023. He has practiced law for over 40 years, primarily in the personal injury and workers’ compensation field.
Richard has acted in many of the leading personal injury cases over the years and was a member of the then Compensation Court Rules Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales.
The Law Society of New South Wales acknowledged Richard’s expertise in Workers’ Compensation when it appointed him to represent it in discussions with WorkCover, which were aimed at improving the delivery of compensation benefits to injured workers. He has also advised Unions New South Wales of the effects and impact on the rights of injured workers following changes to NSW Workers’ Compensation laws.
Richard has made presentations to various conferences on Workers’ Compensation and has written articles in various publications on changes to the Workers’ Compensation system.
Richard remains as a Consultant to the firm assisting in Workers Compensation Matters.
Richard is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
